Care Guide
All of our terrariums are “closed terrariums” which means they are self sustaining and they actually create their own little ecosystem inside of the glass jar! We recommend bright and indirect light for about 6 hours a day. The easiest way to do this is to leave your terrarium in a North or East facing window. Please avoid South and West because this provides too much direct light.
If you have a sealed lid (cork, screw on lid, storage jar) these terrariums are watered about once a year.
If you have a loose fitting lid where airflow can still get into the vessel, you water these about once every 90 days.
What you want to look for is the color of soil and amount of condensation on the jar. When there is no condensation and completely dried and light brown soil, you’ll want to add just enough water to turn the soil back to a dark brown by spraying water along the edge of the glass in a circular motion, watching as the soil changes color as soon as it comes in contact with water.
Each kit includes a care card and a how to card to help you assemble your terrarium, and then care for it for years to come.
Shipping
We carefully ship your items in protective material to keep your plants and glass jar safe. If any items come damaged, please let us know and we will send a replacement. We highly recommend winter shipping insurance for all shipments containing live plants.
